Former EFFC Operative Arraigned Over Fake University Certificate


Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned a former operative of the commission, one Femi Ajibade for allegedly forging his university degree.

 The Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said that the former operative of the commission was arraigned before Justice Olasumbo Goodluck of the FCT High Court, Abuja on a two count charge bordering on forgery.

 Uwujaren said accused allegedly forged a Bachelor of Science Degree Certificate of the University of Ilorin which he used to secure employment into the commission.

 He said that the forgery was uncovered by the EFCC during a certificate verification exercise considered a standard procedure for the regularization of the employment of newly recruited personnel.

 However, Uwujaren said that the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

 Ajibade is being accused of producing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology and Mineral Sciences of the University of Ilorin, with a Second Class Honours Upper Division.

 The certificate with 004675, dated 24th November, 2004 was purportedly signed by the Vice Chancellor and the Registrar of the university who purportedly awarded him with the degree.

A 22-year-old man, Yusuf Hassan, has been apprehended for chopping off the hand of his friend, Abubakar Umar, with a machete, during a fight over one Habiba, on Wednesday, in Dakwa, Abuja. Dailytrust quoted Umar as saying Habiba had relocated with her parents from Kaduna, some months ago, and that before they could get a room to rent, he gave his room to them as a temporary shelter and relocated to his friend’s room. “My friend, Yusuf, started developing interest in the lady.
