Ex-Miss Venezuela And British Ex-Husband Shot Dead In Front Of Daughter

Monica Spear seen in 2004 the year she won the Miss Venezuela beauty pageant.

Former Miss Venezuela and her British ex-husband were shot dead after their car broke down in the country on Monday night. Their 5-year-old daughter survived the attack but was left with a bullet wound in her leg, the government and local media said.

Monica Spear, 29, who was also a soap opera actress, and Henry Berry, 39, died in an attempted robbery on the highway between Puerto Cabello and Valencia in central Venezuela.
  
The 2004 Miss Venezuela winner lived in the United States but was vacationing in her homeland.
 
The Foreign Office said they are, "aware of the death of a British national" and are providing consular assistance. More pics after the cut...

The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) is setting up a special channel for receiving complaints from DSTV and GOTV subscribers who have been unable to renew their subscription at their bouquet prevailing price as at July 31, 2018. The CPC noted that the above measure become necessary following Multichoice’s deliberate disobedience of court order restraining them from increasing their subscription rate or prices, pending the determination of an application before the court. A 22-year-old man, Yusuf Hassan, has been apprehended for chopping off the hand of his friend, Abubakar Umar, with a machete, during a fight over one Habiba, on Wednesday, in Dakwa, Abuja. Dailytrust quoted Umar as saying Habiba had relocated with her parents from Kaduna, some months ago, and that before they could get a room to rent, he gave his room to them as a temporary shelter and relocated to his friend’s room. “My friend, Yusuf, started developing interest in the lady.
