Emmanuel Emenike was the star of the Nigeria-Ethiopia clash in Addis-Ababa today, scoring the two goals to boost our hope for a 2014 World Cup slot in Brazil.
Emenike first scored the equaliser in the 67th minute, after Ethiopia’s midfielder the 20 year old, Behailu Gobeze Assefa had shocked the Nigerian Super Eagles out of their doldrums on the 57th minute.
Nigeria had overall good control of the game, dictating the paces and notching several missed opportunities in front of the Ethiopian goal.
In the 88th minute, Emenike wrapped the game for Nigeria by scoring a penalty; he shot the ball in the right hand corner of the Ethiopian goal post.
Millions of Nigerians could not see the Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifying play off match between Ethiopia and Nigeria on any Nigeria's local television channels as local Tv Broadcasters refused to pay $500,000 match televised viewing right which was demanded by Sports Five, the French Company which holds the rights for the game. They considered the fee to high.
