Lawal Babafemi, Nigerian Arraigned In US For Aiding Al-Qaeda

Lawal Babafemi, also known as  “Ayatollah Mustafa,” a Nigerian terror suspect was arraigned before a United States Federal Courtroom on Friday{27-09-2013} based on accusation for trying to help Al-Qaeda in Yemen. Babafemi was accused of training with members of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, recruits people who speaks English to engage in acts of terror against Americans and using his English skills to help publish the terrorist magazine “Inspire.”
 
NBCnewyork.com reports that Judge John Gleason ordered Babafemi, also known as “Ayatollah Mustafa,” who is married with children in Nigeria to be held without an option for bail. No objection was made or plea entered by the Attorney of the accused but he told the judge Babafemi suffers from high blood pressure and asked that he receive medication when he gets to the Metropolitan Detention Center.
 
The FBI said Anwar al-Awlaki, the American cleric who became the Al-Qeada commander in the Arabian Peninsula and was killed in a US drone strike, personally directed $9,000 be paid to Babafemi to assist in his recruitment efforts.

Also reported: Babafemi was active with Al-Qaeda operatives from 2010 to 2011 until he was arrested for crimes in Nigeria and then turned over to FBI agents to be prosecuted for his alleged terrorist activity.

    Northern Nigerians are being accused of terrorism. Is a Babafemi also of northern Nigerian origin?

10 Burnt To Death In Lagos Tanker Fire

      No fewer than 10 people were roasted as a tanker laden with petrol went up in flames yesterday at Berger Suya junction, Apapa, Lagos.   Also, several buildings, eight vehicles, and over 200 locked-up shops including a commercial bank in the area were razed.   The fire which started at about 10:30pm on Tuesday and raged till 3:00am yesterday was said to have been caused by a tanker laden with 33,000 liters of petrol which lost control as it was about to negotiate a sharp bend and exploded close to Suya spots in the area.   Several passengers in two commercial buses, by-standers, two Hausa suya vendors including the driver of the truck and the conductor were burnt beyound recognition as rescue workers were seen picking bones of parts of human beings into body bag.     Source: Vanguard

Mikel Obi Deserves This Award Says Yaya Toure And Highlights From The GLO-CAF Awards
