What a shame! Even in this current dispensation this stupid two timing tactic of group(s) urging a person who has got no set plan to contest is at the fore again. Very disturbing!!. If Atiku got no plan to contest 2015 election or a plan to serve the citizens why would idiots masquerading as sensible individual urge him to? We need a focused individual not a political maradona or a power lust or an unprepared person. What do you think ?
As the race to the 2015 presidential election gathers momentum, a political interest group, the Atiku Mandate Forum (AMF), has asked the former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to step out and contest.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja yesterday, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State and Coordinator of the forum, Okosisi Emeka Ngwu, said the former the vice-president can no longer delay on the issue, but should ensure that “he not only runs for but becomes President in 2015.”
Ngwu said: “Atiku Abubakar is an unappreciated gold fish. His leadership qualities are sterling and we, unequivocally, need him to steer the ship of state. This country needs him now.”
According to Ngwu, who is also the in Enugu State, with the present economic and security challenges facing the country and threatening its continued existence as one united nation “there is dire need for a leadership whose acceptance cuts across regional and religious divides on the domestic front and whose experience and international standing would open doors for the socio-economic development of the country.”
He noted that with Atiku’s temperate nature, political antecedents, democratic principles and experience in corporate governance, which are fundamental in establishing a stable polity needed for national development, “the onus is on us, as citizens of this country, who want to get out of this present social and economic quagmire, to ensure that he not only runs for but becomes President in 2015.”
